Mr Qu Yilin, well-known for his calligraphy and painting, born in Luxian county, Sichuan province in Dec.,1908, has been engaged in researching chinese literature and painting for more than 70 years. His charateristics of chinese paintings are mixing chinese with western skills, wide range of subjects, suiting both refined and popular tastes. His painting exhibitions were held in Taibei, Shenzhen and Chengdu recently. His works have been collected by some museums and collectors at home and abroad. 　　 　　Mr. Qu graduated from the Chinese Dept. of National Teachers School of Chengdu in 1930. Then, he went to Shanghai Fine Art Traing School to study painting. He graduated from the Art Dept. of National Central University of Nanjin in 1934. He was guided by Xu Beihong, Zhang Daqian and the other famouse artists. He taught as a professor in the Female Teachers College of Chongqin in 1940s. He is now the present of Sichuan Provincial Research Institute of Xu Beihong & Zhang Daqians Art, a member of Sichuan Provincial Literature and History Research Institute, etc. 　　 　　More than 10 series of works have been published. His main works are Album of Qu Yilins Paintings, Figure Portrayal Skills, How to Draw House, Bridge, etc.
