Fatal DWI Suspect Has Prior Arrests
Women Killed While Pushing Stroller LOS ALAMOS, N.M., 10:02 a.m. MDT June 4, 2001 -- It appears a man accused of drunken driving in an accident that killed two women Friday has been arrested for DWI before. John Martinez is charged with two counts of vehicular homicide and one count of aggravated drunken driving. He is also charged with careless driving and driving on a suspended license. Los Alamos police Sgt. Geoffrey Horne says police records show two prior arrests matching Martinezs name and birthdate. Two women were pushing a baby in a stroller when they were struck Friday. Both Xuming Wu and Jing Xuan Shi died at a local hospital Friday. Shis 6-month-old son was treated for minor injuries and released Saturday. Date: 6/6/2001 5:00:00 PM |
